We have all had loved ones on a road trip alone at some point and worried about them ending up in a ditch or simply wondered when they would arrive at their destination.
It’s easy to keep loved ones current on where we are today thanks to smartphones, but it is dangerous to take eyes off the road and update people while you are driving.
Glympse has a new app called Glympse for Auto that updates your contacts on where you are without you having to do anything but launch the app. The app will automatically update people who want to know where you are and all the driver needs to do is launch the app when they leave.
Ten of the largest automakers in the world support the app with in-dash integration. Those automakers include Mercedes, BMW, Ford, Volvo, and Jaguar Land Rover. VW and Peugeot recently added support fro the app with third infotainment systems via MirrorLink.
“With the availability of Glympse for Autos and our integration with MirrorLink, we are helping to set a paradigm of how connected car apps should be: simple, easy to use and driver-aware,” said Glympse co-founder and CEO Bryan Trussel today.
