The newly announced Huawei Honor 7 incorporates an SOS button feature developed in India, thus fulfilling a promise the company made about this user security function’s integration. In August, the government had asked all mobile phone manufacturers to embed an emergency alarm of sorts in their devices, following which Huawei vowed to launch its first Honor series smartphone with such a specification in October.
The company’s R&D team in Bangalore have designed a hardware-integrated SOS for the Huawei Honor 7. It can be made to automatically send a message to preset contacts, sound an alarm or alert the concerned numbers to the user’s exact location. The handset includes a fingerprint sensor and a Siri-like virtual assistant you can address as ‘Honey Bear.’
Flaunting an aluminum alloy finish, the 4G-capable and dual SIM Honor 7 has a host of specs that put it in the mid-range category. It runs on Android Lollipop mated with Huawei’s EMUI 3.1 software, an octa core chipset and 3GB of RAM. A 5.2-inch full HD screen can be found on its face along with an 8MP camera. The last mentioned has a rear 20MP shooter for company.
